The screenings are free to the public, but space is limited and registration is required. Although these 15-minute screenings are not intended to be diagnostic evaluations, they mayhelp uncover early signs of memory impairment and/or dementia. In addition, material and resources on Alzheimer’s disease will be available for participants.
More than 5 million Americans may have Alzheimer’s, and the disease is currently ranked as the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, according to the National Institute on Aging.
These screenings are available through a partnership between the Mississippi Department of Mental Health, Memory Center and Sumrall Medical Center. To register, call 601-268-5606.
